Episode 23 - State of the Yoga Union: Interview with Emily Stewart

Yoga professional and visionary, Emily Stewart, talks to Alanna about her creation of a yoga union to help professionals earn better wages, secure insurance coverage and make a living in our tough industry. She recognized many of the struggles of the yoga teacher and has sought to solve those problems by bringing yogis together and protecting them in this old school, yet innovative way!

I am so excited to share with you this interview with Emily Stewart. Emily Stewart is a graduate from the Kaivalya Yoga Method and ever since she graduated she has been making quite a splash around the world. I’ve heard from Emily teaching in Malta and on retreats and her yoga career just booming. Recently however, she’s made an incredible and important pivot, heading up a union for yoga teachers to help value yoga teachers and create industry standards for their health, well-being, and insurance coverage. We’ll talk to Emily about what started this idea and how she is progressing, in fact quite rapidly, and how this affects you.

There are definitely things in that old normal that actually weren’t normal at all and probably honestly not working for us.
